Mission statement

We are dedicated to exposing all those who aided, abetted and actually took part in the atrocities visited upon journalists and the civilian population during junta rule from May 25, 1997 until February 1998. We shall continue to expose the lies and falsehood used to punish journalists who criticised the junta for massive human rights abuses.

We shall endeavour to expose all those who took part in massive human rights abuses in Sierra Leone.

We consider it a duty to expose all journalists and their kind who, during those dark days provided the oxygen of publicity that encouraged the Johnny Paul Koroma RUF/AFRC junta to cling on to power despite the massive civil disobedience that was demonstrated by a hostage population which was resisting their unrecognised (both nationally and internationally) junta overlords.

Furthermore in our belief in the Edmund Burke saying - "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing", and in the furtherance of democracy, the respect for human rights and the rule of law, the Sierra Herald will always endeavour to bring to the public domain matters that threaten these principles relating to Sierra Leoneans in their own God-given country.

The Sierra Herald is dedicated to work selflessly in making sure that evil never becomes triumphant in Sierra Leone. Never again.

The Sierra Herald will continue to publish and inform using credible sources that will always stand the test of time in the search for truth, justice, equality and the integrity of the individual.

Thank you for your time
