Reports : SLPP rally in Bo was unlawful and unauthorized and was recipe for chaos orchestrated by Maada Bio, John Benjamin and Abbass Bundu

Reports continue to come in about today’s riot in Bo. We have been reliably informed that the rally staged by the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party ( SLPP ) was illegal and unauthorized by the Sierra Leone Police Force. According to Police sources, the SLPP were not supposed to have engaged in any campaign-like rally because the National Elections Commission ( NEC ) had not declared political campaigns open nor has Parliament been prerogued for the 2012 elections. The Bio rally in Bo was therefore unlawful and unauthorized. Even the procession was said to have been illegal because the SLPP refused to procure a police permit for such a demonstration.

Our sources are also reporting that the whole chaos was stagemanaged and orchestrated by the SLPP. According to our Freetown sources, late last evening, some SLPP supporters at BIG WHARF had already started talking about a big explosion that will take place in Bo today. The youths, believed to be supporters of Mr. Wusu Boie , even said they were planning to travel to Bo to reinforce the SLPP thugs who will teach the APC a lesson. The question being asked by sources was that if the Bo chaos was not something that had been pre-planned , how come that SLPP supporters predicted correctly that there would be confusion in Bo today ?

We have also learned that the kingpin of today’s chaos in Bo was John Benjamin, described as the most dangerous and venal character in Sierra Leone’s politics whose lust for power knows no bound and who could sacrifice his own grandmother to get political power. John Benjamin is so hungry for power and he is so determined to get it from violence that he is said to be busy crisscrossing the country to get support from vulnerable young people. ” John Benjamin, the devil , is at work again as he did in 1992 when he incited the nebulous Mada Bio and other soldiers to overthrow the old APC ” , said one of our newsbearers . Our sources said that the youths were incited by John Benjamin who wanted to send a clear message before next year’s elections that the SLPP plans to prevail by hook or by crook, especially through violence.

The SLPP youths were incited to stone the APCHeadquarters in Bo by Benjamin, Maada Bio and Abbass Bundu . Their aim for staging the illegal procession was to provoke chaos that would be blamed on the ruling All People’s Congress and build on the dubious support they have started getting from one misguided and prying diplomat in the country. Our sources however said the plan had backfired because many Sierra Leoneans are blaming the SLPP for their acts of provocation and the looting and arson they unleasehed in Bo today.
